Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Skylarq AI is built on a local-first architecture. Your sales data, contacts, and conversations stay on your Mac -- not on our servers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. Information We Collect

Account Data

When you create a Skylarq account or join our early access program, we collect:

  • Name and email address
  • Company name and job title (optional)
  • Authentication credentials (securely hashed; we never store plaintext passwords)
  • Billing information if you subscribe to a paid plan (processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers)

Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage telemetry to improve the product:

  • Feature usage frequency (which tools you open, not the content within them)
  • Application performance metrics (crash reports, load times)
  • Operating system version and hardware class (e.g., "macOS 15, Apple Silicon")
  • Session duration and general interaction patterns

You can opt out of usage telemetry at any time from the Skylarq settings panel.

Local Data

Local-first by design: Your contacts, CRM data, meeting transcripts, outreach drafts, and AI-generated insights are stored locally on your Mac. This data is never uploaded to Skylarq servers unless you explicitly choose to sync or share it.

Skylarq stores the following data on your device:

  • Contact and prospect records
  • Meeting transcripts and action items
  • Outreach sequences and campaign history
  • AI agent conversation logs and generated content
  • CRM sync configurations and field mappings
  • Your personal knowledge graph and relationship data

We do not have access to this data. It remains on your machine unless you explicitly enable cloud sync features.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the service -- authenticate your account, deliver product updates, and ensure the application functions correctly
  • Improve Skylarq -- analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to prioritize features and fix issues
  • Communicate with you -- send product announcements, security alerts, and support responses (you can unsubscribe from non-essential communications at any time)
  • Process AI requests -- when you use features that require cloud AI processing (such as natural language search or AI-generated outreach), the specific query is sent to our AI infrastructure, processed, and the result returned. We do not retain these queries beyond the duration needed to fulfill the request
  • Ensure security -- detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access to your account

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data lives on your Mac. Skylarq is a desktop application that processes and stores your sales data locally. Unlike cloud-only SaaS tools, your contacts, conversations, and pipeline data never leave your device by default.

Local Storage

All core application data is stored in your local macOS application support directory. This data is protected by your Mac's built-in disk encryption (FileVault) and your user account credentials. Skylarq does not transmit this data to any external server.

Cloud Infrastructure

For account authentication, usage telemetry, and certain AI-powered features, we use secure cloud infrastructure:

  • All data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.2 or higher
  • Account data at rest is encrypted using AES-256
  • Our cloud services are hosted on infrastructure that maintains SOC 2 compliance
  • Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel with multi-factor authentication

Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Local data on your Mac is under your control and is not affected by account deletion -- you can delete it at any time.

4. Third-Party Services

Skylarq integrates with third-party services to deliver its features. When you connect a third-party service, the data shared is governed by that service's privacy policy in addition to ours.

  • AI providers -- We use large language model providers to power search, content generation, and meeting intelligence. Queries sent to these providers do not include your personal identity and are not used to train third-party models.
  • CRM platforms -- If you connect Salesforce, HubSpot, or another CRM, Skylarq syncs data between your local database and your CRM via their official APIs. We do not store your CRM credentials; authentication is handled via OAuth.
  • Email and calendar -- Calendar and email integrations use OAuth tokens with the minimum scopes necessary. We do not read or store the content of emails not related to Skylarq functionality.
  • Analytics -- We use Google Analytics on our website (assistant.skylarq.ai) to understand traffic patterns. The desktop application's telemetry is handled by our own infrastructure.
  • Payment processing -- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card details on our servers.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • With your consent -- When you explicitly authorize a data export, integration, or sharing action
  • Service providers -- With trusted vendors who process data on our behalf (hosting, analytics, payment processing), bound by data processing agreements
  • Legal requirements -- When required by law, subpoena, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Skylarq, our users, or others
  • Business transfers -- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy

We will never share the local data stored on your Mac. We do not have access to it.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access -- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction -- Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion -- Request that we delete your personal data from our servers
  • Portability -- Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection -- Object to certain processing activities, such as marketing communications
  • Restriction -- Request that we limit how we use your data while a complaint is being resolved

Because Skylarq stores your core data locally, you always have direct access to export, modify, or delete your own data from the application. For account-level data stored on our servers, email privacy@allstonlabs.com and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Our website (assistant.skylarq.ai) uses a limited set of cookies:

  • Essential cookies -- Required for authentication and basic site functionality
  • Analytics cookies -- Google Analytics cookies to understand aggregate traffic patterns (you can opt out via your browser settings or a Google Analytics opt-out plugin)

The Skylarq desktop application does not use cookies. Usage telemetry in the app is handled through a separate, opt-out mechanism described in Section 1.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not participate in ad networks or cross-site tracking.

8. Children's Privacy

Skylarq is designed for business professionals and is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@allstonlabs.com and we will promptly delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Skylarq AI is operated by Allston Labs, a company incorporated in Delaware, United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your account data may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

We implement appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, including standard contractual clauses where required. Because your core sales data remains local on your Mac, international transfer concerns apply primarily to account and telemetry data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Notify you via email or an in-app notification for significant changes
  • Provide a summary of what changed

Your continued use of Skylarq after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
